Overlooking the Piazza della Signoria and Loggia dei Lanzi, the Palazzo Vecchio, with its crenelated battlements and 311-foot Arnolfo Tower, dates back to 1299.
One of Florence's most renowned attractions, the palace features a series of luxurious courtyards and halls, as well as numerous secret passages. A treasure trove of medieval masterpieces, the Palazzo Vecchio includes works by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Giorgio Vasari.
Ascending the steps of the Duke Gualtieri staircase, visitors will discover the Salone dei Cinquecento, with its stunning frescoes and paneled ceiling. This one hour and fifteen-minute tour will take visitors deep inside the former residence of Duke Cosimo I de' Medici and the seat of Florentine power. The tour will conclude with a traditional lunch at the adjacent ancient merchant gallery.
