What Will I See?

Our Gray Line Florence guided tour of the majestic Palazzo Vecchio, designed by Arnolfo di Cambio from 1298 to 1314, will bring you inside the former house of Medici. The 14th century palace is one of the highlights of the Florence's Italian Renaissance legacy. Roam the regal halls and take in its decorative treasures.

What Will I Do?

Our expert guide will accompany you around the Palazzo Vecchio, an Italian Renaissance masterpiece created by Arnolfo di Cambio, which has become of the foremost symbols of Florence. The grand palace was home to the Medici family and the interior showcases the best of Italian Renassaince masterworks, featuring frescoes, paintings, decorations and statues from the Italian masters such as Michelangelo, Donatello, Verrocchio, Vasari, Ghirlandaio and Bronzino. The halls of the building are a veritable museum. Feel free to explore the renowned "Hall of the 500," Francesco I de' Medici's personal study and the exquisite private quarters of Eleonora of Toledo and Cosimo I de' Medici. The palace surrounds a courtyard designed by Michelozzo, which displays frescoes painted by Giorgio Vasari in 1565, ornate columns and stunning sculptures by Battista del Tadda and Andrea del Verrocchio. The tour is concludes with a sunset walk around the top of the palace on the historic "battlemented patrol path," which provides a breathtaking outlook over the city of Florence at such a beautiful time of day. To cap off the visit to the Palazzo Vecchio, our guide will bring you to one of Florence's signature restaurants where you can marvel at the Piazza Signoria, one of the city's most revered squares.
