What will I see?
Explore the wine, culture and storied history of Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa with Gray Line Florence on a not to be missed full-day tour. Enjoy vineyards of Chianti grapes to narrow streets, charming hamlets to impressive Cathedrals, all in the heartland of Tuscany.
What will I do?
You'll arrive in Siena early in the morning, after a picturesque drive through Chianti wine country. This hilltop town has a historic center, ideal for a walking tour with your local guide. You'll enjoy the medieval streetscape and sights such as the stunning Siena Cathedral and the famous Piazza del Campo, a large square in the center of town with beautifully preserved architecture from the 12th and 13th centuries, which is also the site of the exciting, 600-year old Palio horse race. You'll also have free time to wander through the historic streets on your own.
Then it's time for a traditional Tuscan lunch with local wine at a charming family-run winery in the countryside. Afterwards you'll visit San Gimignano, the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages", a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have some free time to shop at local artisan boutiques and stroll through the characteristic streets. Once we leave San Gimignano, there will be plenty of photo opportunities as we drive by villages and churches perched on the hills.
Our journey ends in Pisa, where we'll begin our tour with Piazza Dei Miracoli, the "Field of Miracles". Here, the green grass contrasts the brilliant white of the city's iconic Romanesque buildings, including the Cathedral or Duomo, the Camposanto, and the Baptistery, and last but not least the world-famous leaning Tower. At 56 meters tall (183 ft) and with a lean of 4 degrees, it truly is one of the wonders of the world. You'll have plenty of time to revel in this prestigious location to take photographs and explore the local streets.
