Tour Itinerary

What will I see?

Visit all of the most impressive historical sights of Florence in a single tour. Led by our well-informed and engaging guide, you'll experience the beauty of this medieval city first hand and lose yourself in the center of a magnificent array of medieval Italian art.

What will I do?

We will begin our adventure in San Lorenzo square, admiring the 16th and 17th century Medici Chapels and the Basilica of San Lorenzo, one of the largest churches in the city.
We'll explore the cloister, which was designed by Brunelleschi and is a uniquely green oasis in the Medici district. Despite its location in the center of Florence, the cloister offers a moment of serenity before we continue our walk.

We then proceed with the beautiful Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the first residence of the prestigious Medici family, before reaching Piazza del Duomo with its world-renowned Cathedral and the impressive Cupola del Brunelleschi. We'll then see the octagonal Baptistery of St. John and continue to the quaint Mercato della Paglia market. There we'll stop at the Fontana del Porcellino, where you can place a coin in the bronze boar's mouth and let it fall through the fountain's grate for good luck.
Nearby, we'll take a moment to enjoy the famous outdoor sculpture museum Piazza della Signoria with its crenellated tower, followed by the renowned Uffizi Gallery, which is the most visited art gallery in Italy.

After marvelling at all of that classic Italian art, we'll follow the Arno River to the Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge), crossing it to the Pitti Palace, before we reach the Medieval quarters where the great poet Dante Alighieri once lived. We'll then see the Badia Fiorentina with its hexagonal tower and the austere former military barracks and prison, the Bargello Palace, before to end the tour in the charming Piazza della Repubblica.

Why should I go?

This tour of historic central Florence will take you to all of the most important landmarks in the city, including an unmissable host of classic Italian art, architecture and antiquities.
As you walk around the old town, your local tour guide will be there to bring history to life.
